What Is HLTAID013?

HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in Remote or Isolated Site is a nationally recognised first aid qualification for people who work where medical help may not arrive quickly.

It builds on standard first aid and adds remote-specific skills, including extended patient monitoring, communication with emergency services, evacuation coordination, environmental risks and ongoing care until help arrives.

This course is relevant across Western Australia, especially for remote, regional, agricultural, mining, outdoor and isolated work settings.

How Remote First Aid Training Works

HLTAID013 covers standard first aid skills first, then adds the remote and isolated site requirements that apply when help is delayed.

Practical scenarios may include extended monitoring, vital signs, communication issues, environmental hazards and planning for evacuation or handover.

CPR and AED Assessment

CPR is assessed in line with Australian Resuscitation Council requirements, including floor-based CPR.

CPR assessment requirement: You must be able to perform a minimum of 2 continuous minutes of CPR on an adult manikin on the floor. If you have a physical condition that may affect this, contact us before booking.

What is the difference between HLTAID011 and HLTAID013?

HLTAID011 is standard workplace first aid. HLTAID013 includes HLTAID011 and adds remote-specific skills for situations where help may be delayed, including extended monitoring, evacuation coordination, communication and environmental risks.

Does HLTAID013 include HLTAID011?

Yes. HLTAID013 includes HLTAID009, HLTAID010 and HLTAID011. These units are issued when all course requirements are successfully completed.

Is HLTAID013 required for farm workers in WA?
