Course Overview

What Is HLTAID009?

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is the nationally recognised CPR unit used for annual CPR renewal and workplace compliance.

You will learn how to recognise cardiac arrest, call for help, perform CPR on adults, children and infants, and use an automated external defibrillator, known as an AED.

This unit is suitable if you only need CPR, or if you need to renew the CPR component of a current first aid certificate.

Annual CPR Renewal

The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends CPR skills are refreshed every 12 months.

Many workplaces require annual CPR renewal even when a full first aid certificate is valid for 3 years.

If you already hold HLTAID011, HLTAID012, HLTAID013 or HLTAID014, you may still need to renew HLTAID009 each year.
