How LifeVac works

LifeVac is a non-powered, non-invasive suction device. It is used as a last resort when standard choking first aid (back blows and abdominal thrusts) has been attempted and failed, and the person is still choking. It requires no power source and no medical training to operate. The suction force it generates is more than three times greater than the highest recorded result from any standard first aid measure.

Place the mask
Select the correct mask size and place it firmly over the person's mouth and nose to create a seal.

Push down, pull up
Push the handle down to seal the airway, then pull sharply upward. The suction dislodges the obstruction.
3
Repeat if needed
If the airway is not cleared on the first attempt, reposition and repeat. Continue calling 000.
